The 1957 Jaguar XK140 Drophead Coupe is a stunning example of British automotive craftsmanship from the golden era of sports cars. It was the successor to the XK120, featuring notable improvements in comfort, performance, and handling while retaining the sleek, curvaceous design that made its predecessor so iconic.

Under the bonnet, the XK140 was powered by Jaguar’s legendary 3.4-liter inline-six engine, producing 210 horsepower in this top spec Special Equipment (SE) model. This engine, derived from the Le Mans-winning C-Type, delivered impressive acceleration and a top speed of around 193 km/h (120 mph), making it one of the fastest production cars of its time. A four-speed close ratio manual gearbox provides a smooth and engaging driving experience, while the improved rack-and-pinion steering offered better control compared to the XK120’s older steering system.
